TOM JONES IS TAKING HIS VOICE AROUND THE WORLD AGAIN — AND AT 86, EVERY 2026 CONCERT FEELS MORE PRECIOUS

Posted on October 10, 2026 By admin

After more than six decades of sold-out rooms, television appearances and songs that have crossed generations, Sir Tom Jones is proving that the road still has a powerful hold on him. At 86, the legendary Welsh singer has spent 2026 performing across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, Canada and the United States, turning what could easily have been a year of quiet reflection into another remarkable chapter of live music. For fans, the continuing tour schedule represents something much bigger than another chance to hear familiar hits. It is another opportunity to stand in the same room with one of popular music’s most recognizable voices while he is still choosing to sing.

At 80, Tom Jones' Voice Is Still Going Strong On His New Album 'Surrounded By Time' | WYPR

Tom’s official website describes a 2026 summer run spanning the UK, Ireland, Europe and the United States, with reviews from places including Spain and Scarborough praising performances that openly acknowledge his age rather than pretending time has stood still. Instead of entering with one of his most explosive classics, Jones has often begun recent shows with “I’m Growing Old,” followed by Leonard Cohen’s “Tower of Song” and Bob Dylan’s “Not Dark Yet,” creating an unusually reflective opening before eventually moving toward the songs audiences have loved for decades.

That approach has given the concerts a different emotional texture.

The familiar swagger is still there when songs such as “It’s Not Unusual” and “Sexbomb” arrive, but the performances now carry the weight of everything that happened between the young Welsh singer who first became a star in the 1960s and the 86-year-old man standing under the lights today. His voice has accumulated age, experience, grief and memory, and rather than hiding those things, Jones increasingly seems willing to make them part of the show.

The North American leg continues deep into the fall. His official schedule includes October dates in Clearwater, New Orleans, Sugar Land, Thackerville and Chandler, followed by three nights at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas. From there, the tour moves to Los Angeles, San Diego, Highland, Wheatland and finally San Francisco on November 1.

For audiences arriving at those venues, there is an obvious nostalgia factor. “Delilah,” “Green, Green Grass of Home,” “It’s Not Unusual” and the many soul, blues and pop songs associated with Jones can immediately transport listeners back decades.

But nostalgia alone does not explain why people still come.

Tom Jones: X Factor judges know nothing

Tom has continued reshaping his live shows around songs that speak to where he is now. Reviews of his 2026 concerts have emphasized quieter arrangements, gospel and blues influences, reflections on mortality and the unmistakable depth of a performer who no longer needs to prove that he can dominate a stage. He already did that long ago.

What he appears interested in now is connection.

That may also explain why every tour announcement carries more emotional weight at this stage of his career. Fans understand that no artist can stay on the road forever, particularly one who began performing professionally more than 60 years ago. Yet Jones has resisted turning age into a farewell campaign. There has been no need to frame every concert as an ending because, whenever another date appears, his response has remained essentially the same: show up, sing honestly and let the music do the talking.

Tom Jones Claims He Was Fired From The Voice UK for This Reason

The timing feels especially meaningful after another major professional transition. Jones recently confirmed that leaving his full-time role on The Voice UK was not his decision, ending a television chapter that had made him familiar to an entirely new generation of viewers.

The stage, however, remains his.

That distinction matters.

A television chair can disappear. Formats can change, contracts can end and industries can make decisions outside an artist’s control. But the relationship between a singer and an audience exists somewhere else entirely.

At 86, Tom Jones is still walking into that space night after night.

For longtime fans, the 2026 tour is therefore not simply about hearing “It’s Not Unusual” one more time. It is about witnessing a performer who has survived changing eras, personal loss, shifting fashions and the passage of time without surrendering the thing that defined him from the beginning.

The voice may carry more years now.

The songs may carry more memories.

But when Tom Jones walks beneath the lights and begins to sing, thousands of people still become quiet enough to listen.

And in 2026, that may be the most powerful encore of all. ❤️🎤
