THE ROLLING STONES’ 2026 TOUR BUZZ HAS FANS ELECTRIFIED — BUT KEITH RICHARDS’ LATEST WORDS POINT TO SOMETHING EVEN MORE INTRIGUING

Posted on August 11, 2026 By admin

For longtime Rolling Stones fans, even the possibility of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood returning to the stage is enough to make rock ’n’ roll feel young again. The band’s new album, “Foreign Tongues,” arrived on July 10, 2026, reminding listeners that the Stones are still creating rather than simply looking backward. At the album’s London launch, Jagger and Wood openly said they hoped to take the record on the road, with Jagger telling Reuters that they hoped to see everyone “on the road.” But despite the excitement surrounding those comments, an official 2026 tour with confirmed cities and dates has not been announced.

A secret song, a new album — why it's going to be a Rolling Stones summer

That distinction matters because rumors have moved faster than the band’s actual plans. Earlier hopes for a 2026 U.K. and European stadium run were reportedly shelved before formal dates were announced, and reports at the time suggested Richards was unable to commit to the planned schedule. What fans have received instead is something more intriguing: an increasingly open conversation about how The Rolling Stones might continue performing as age changes what months of relentless travel now demand from them.

Keith Richards has been especially candid about that reality. The 82-year-old guitarist has suggested that the traditional model of moving constantly from city to city may no longer be the only way forward. He has acknowledged that traveling is the part that takes the greatest toll and has floated the possibility of residencies or another format that would allow the Stones to perform without repeating the exhausting touring routines of earlier decades.

“Bring the road to us. That’s my suggestion,” Richards said while discussing future possibilities.

Those words may not be the 2026 tour confirmation fans hoped to hear, but they reveal something equally important: Keith has not stopped imagining The Rolling Stones playing live. He said he could see no reason the band should not be able to do something next year, “good Lord willing,” while mentioning the possibility of a residency or another reimagined approach to performing. Rather than closing the door, Richards appears to be asking whether the road itself can be redesigned around the musicians who have traveled it for more than six decades.

For fans, any return would carry enormous emotional weight. Mick’s unmistakable presence, the intuitive guitar conversation between Keith and Ronnie, and the memory of Charlie Watts are now inseparable from a story that began in London in 1962. “Foreign Tongues,” the Stones’ 25th studio album, even includes a special appearance from one of Watts’ final recording sessions, allowing the band’s newest chapter to retain a direct musical connection with the drummer whose steady heartbeat helped define them.

That continuity may explain why every hint of another tour spreads so quickly. Fans are not merely waiting to hear “Start Me Up,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” or “Gimme Shelter” again. They are hoping for another chance to stand before living history, hear Keith strike one of those ragged chords that somehow belongs only to him, watch Mick command a room, and see Ronnie answer with the loose guitar chemistry that has survived changing generations, personal losses, and time itself.

For now, saying that The Rolling Stones are definitely touring in 2026 goes beyond what has been officially confirmed. Jagger and Wood clearly want live performances to continue, while Richards appears interested in finding a new format that makes performing sustainable. That could mean the next major live chapter arrives in 2027 rather than this year.

But perhaps the most important news is not a list of cities. After sixty-four years, The Rolling Stones are still discussing what comes next.

The road may change and the pace may slow, but Keith Richards is still imagining another guitar plugged in, another audience waiting, and another night when rock ’n’ roll refuses to become merely a memory.
